3D Tour of the Planets Good for data about all the planets of the Solar System.	Asteroid Blaster An activity in which learners 'blast asteroids' to gain letters which make up 'space words'.	Astronomy Picture of Day A photograph of Space with information which changes each day.	Astro Adventure This site encourages learners to complete a series of tasks as they travel through Space.
Asteroids Video An excellent series of short video clips giving information about ateroids.	Comet Wordsearch Finding words within the puzzle.	Constellations Learners decide which month and direction to find all the constellations visible.	Black Hole Rescue A spelling activity with a science words.
Birth of the Solar System A short animation explaining the formation of the Solar System. The language is quite hard but the animations will overcome this. There is a quiz at the end if required.	Google Sky Users of Google Earth can now tour the Universe. The new Sky feature allows users to zoom through 200 million galaxies and 100 millions stars.	Digger Setting Course The first of a 3 part episode of cartoon animations. Requires a fair bit of other scientific knowledge to complete some of the tasks.	Constellations A 'drag and drop' activity putting constellations in the sky, then identifying them in Space.
Build Your Own Universe An activity which could be used to show more able learners how a universe is formed.	Planetarium An activity which enables learners to find information by clicking on the individual planets.	Earth and Beyond 4 activities - Space Materials, Blast Off, Space Spin Offs and Satellites. A set of six slides with information again would make this ideal for project work.	Earth in Space Crossword An activity which requires an understanding of many aspects of this science topic and may only be suitable for more able learners.
Build Your Own Star An activity suitable to demonstrate to more able learners how a star is 'born' and with what.	Planets and Moons An activity in which learners can create their own Solar System by creating planets and moons.	Life Cycle of the Stars A short animation describing the lifecycle of the stars.	Earth in Space Test BBC Revisewise test covering the Earth in Space science curriculum.
Comets Video An excellent series short video clips giving information about each of the planets.	Put Solar System in order A 'drag and drop' activity where learners put the planets into order.	Mars A short animation describing the features of Mars.	Fantastic Voyage Quiz The initial concept looks good but has limited use.
Cosmic Colours A series of slides of various planets, stars and nebula that can be viewed via a combination radio waves, infrared, ultraviolet, x-rays and gamma rays.	Solar System Planets Learners are encouraged to place all the planets into their correct positions in the Solar System. There is a help feature to aid this process. Once all are correctly positioned all the planets of the Solar System begin to move in their orbits.	Mars the Facts A series of excellent photographs.	Name the planets An interactive game naming the planets of the Solar System out from the Sun.
Earth, Sun and Moon A simple powerpoint presentation introducing aspects of a school's project on Space.	Space Chase An activity in which learners follow a series of clues.	Mars Up Close A short film of pictures from the Mars Lander. The commentary is too complex for young learners but the pictures are excellent.	Nine Planets Quiz A 10 question multiple choice quiz marked online.
Earth Video An excellent short video clip giving information about this planet.	Space Shuttle Jigsaw A 16 piece jigsaw for learners to complete.	Moon Maths A series of questions the answers to which learners can find by reading the information alongside. Learners need skills in both maths and reading. This would provide an excellent comprehension activity.	Omega Sector An activity in which learners have to dock a spaceship with a space station by controlling fight angle and power. The gravitational pull of planets have an affect.
Google Mars A Martian version of Google Earth. Incredible photographs.	Space Tour A series of activities covering a number of aspects of the Solar System.	Order It Up! An activity in which learners attempt to put the planets into order and this can vary from mass to radius. As such it may only be suitable for more able learners. The activity requires a good knowledge and understanding of the Solar System.	Planet Hop An interactive test of learners knowledge about the positions of the various planets.
International SpaceStation A short animation describing the building of this construction in Space.	Stars An activity in which learners can create constellations with stars of the four seasons.	Planets of Solar System An excellent comprehension activity learners have to choose which statement of the 3 starts the description of the Solar System. As one is chosen it appears in the screen below and another appears to make up the next 3 statements.	Saturn Word Drop A 'drag and drop' activity where learners have to complete 8 sentences by placing the correct word into the gap.
Jupiter Video An excellent short video clip giving information about this planet.	The Planets 1 A 'drag and drop' activity of putting the planets into their order out from the Sun. Neptune Video An excellent short video clip giving information about this planet.		Solar System Switch An excellent activity on 3 levels. Learners have to put together the 3 parts of the planet requested. This requires a good deal of visual knowledge of what each planet looks like.	Solar System Quiz 2 A 13 question quiz where correct answers get learners a chance to fire at the alien ships hiding behind a space picture.
Orbiter The activity itself is a little weak but as a tool for demonstrating an orbit and the effects of a slight difference could be most worthwhile.		Space Doctor This site has the learner as a space mission doctor advising 3 astronauts travelling through space. A variety of health issues are posed and the learner as the doctor have to advise. Space Map A series of picture slides with information on the planets, Solar System and the Universe.	Space Chase Learners have to read the clues and identify which planet they have to visit next.

Solar System Formation This animation shows the collapse of a rotating dust cloud to form a solar system with a central star and orbiting planets. The angular velocity vector is yellow. Escape of light elements to the outer regions occurs immediately after the collapse phase. Virtual Planetarium A series of animations showing the solar system, horizon's, eclipses and comets.
Wandering Planet Earth, Mars, and Jupiter are shown in orbit around the Sun. Seen from an alternate geocentric perspective, Mars and Jupiter show retrograde motion as Earth overtakes them in orbit. A telescopic view shows moons in orbit around Jupiter.
