Coloured Shadows
An activity showing the effects of shadows in coloured lights.
Dragon's Mushroom Match
A simple game of matching outlines with pictures of mushrooms.
Laser Maze
An activity at 3 levels working out paths of reflected light.
Black Box
You are given a 'black box' which contains several silver balls. Your aim is to find them. Firing lasers from different places give you clues
Colours game
A powerpoint presentation more about how the brain perceives information.
How we see things
An animation in which learners are asked to illuminate specific items in the picture using mirrors. There is quiz to test the understanding of the science learned.
Light and Dark
An animation asking learners to identify light sources, compare brightness, see colours in the dark and the use of reflective strips for safety. There is quiz to test the understanding of the science learned.
Colour Paint & Light Mixer
An excellent activity which could also be used as a demonstration tool. Your task is to match a given colour by mixing your own light and/or paint. Hints are given for those who find this difficult like me.
Colours of the rainbow
An animated poem about a frog who colours a rainbow. Introduces young learners to colours and their positions in a rainbow.
Light and Dark
A demonstration activity showing the colours of the rainbow.
Light and Shadows
An animation asking learners to place items before a light source and compare shadows. Move the light source nearer and further away, up and down. Compare this with shadows cast by the Sun and the Moon. There is quiz to test the understanding.
Light Test
A 6 question test marked online covering light sources, shadows, reflections from shiny, dull, smooth and rough surfaces.
Combining Light & Colour
A site which shows the changes with more or less of a colour being added.
Light Sources Module
An excellent explanation of light sources, reflection and light travelling in straight lines. Learners have to complete a series of tasks as they understand the science.
Light Applications
3 sets of slides on 'Light Sources', 'Shadows' and 'Reflection'. Each considers how these aspects of light are used in the world.
Light Sources Questions
A series of questions which test learner's understanding of the science.
Combining Light additive
An activity to show the combinations of colour using blue, green and red lights.
Light through a prism
A drag and drop activity where learners place colours in their correction position in the prism rainbow. Link here with anacronyms in English.
Light Designer
An activity linking sound and light as learners 'mix' light and sound together as a DJ.
Reflection/Mirrors Question
A series of questions which test learner's understanding of the science.
Combining Light subtractve
An activity to show the combinations of colour using yellow, magenta and cyan.
Matching shadow animals
A simple game of matching outlines with pictures of animals.
Operation Light & Shadow
An excellent activity that learners will spend hours trying to get through the 8 levels. This requires an understanding of reflection, prisms, transparency and many other properties of light.
Reflection/Seeing Question
A series of questions which test learner's understanding of the science.
Fun House Mirrors
An explanation of the images from concave and convex mirrors.
Match Shapes/ Shadows 1
A simple 'drag and drop' activity matching shapes with their shadows.
  Shadows Questions
A series of questions which test learner's understanding of the science.
Infrared Photo Album
A series of photographs which can also be seen in infrared mode.
Match Shapes/ Shadows 2
A simple 'drag and drop' activity matching shapes with their shadows.

Kaleidoscope
An activity which allows learners to create their own kaleidoscopes.
Match Shapes/ Shadows 3
A simple 'drag and drop' activity matching shapes with their shadows.

LaserLab
Show how laser light can be manipulated and put to music.
Match Shapes/ Shadows 4
A simple 'drag and drop' activity matching shapes with their shadows.

Laws of Light
An activity showing how both eyes see different images and the effect of parallax.

Match Shapes/ Shadows 5
A simple 'drag and drop' activity matching shapes with their shadows.

Light and Dark
An animation asking learners to identify light sources, compare brightness, see colours in the dark and the use of reflective strips for safety.
Mirror Images
An explanation of how we see in a mirror. An activity has learners plotting reflected images.

Light and Shadows
An animation asking learners to place items before a light source and compare shadows. Move the light source nearer and further away, up and down. Compare this with shadows cast by the Sun and the Moon.

Reflection Mirrors Module
An excellent explanation of how light is reflected from mirrors at an equal angle and the image is symmetrical. Learners have to complete a series of tasks as they understand the science.

Light and Sound
From the drop-down list on the right hand side. A short video clip explains the similarities and differences of sound and light waves. A simple experiment shows sound waves travelling.
Reflection Seeing Module
An excellent explanation of how light is reflected from rough, smooth, dull and shiny surfaces and that we see by light which is reflected from an object. Learners have to complete a series of tasks as they understand the science.

Natural and manmade light
A simple powerpoint presentation with examples of both types of light.
Sagwa Let's Eat
A simple game of matching outlines with pictures of food on a table.

Primary Colours
