Crank It Up An excellent interactive site for young learners who have to place household items onto a 'machine' which when working creates rhythms based on the items on the machine. These can be recorded online, joined and replayed. The possibilities are endless. |
Cave Sounds An excellent interactive activity in which learners listen to a number of sounds and 'drag and drop' them into a grid to create a series of rhythms. |
Gamelan An excellent interactive activity in which learners follow musical patterns created by 'Polly' using 3 different xylophone type musical instruments - Peking, Saron and Slentham (no I didn't know what they were either). |
Monkey Dance
A means to test rhythm, co-ordination and IT keyboard skills. For pure fun this is a must. |
Endless Limitations The title says it all. The site comprises many rhythm beats for learners to clap along to. This develops into actual rhythm creations. |
Drum Beats A simple 'drag and drop' activity. Multiples of nine animated drummers can be brought onto the blank screen each playing their own particular drum beat. |
Miss 'Em
An interactive game on 10 levels which tests learners ability to follow a rhythm. I found this activity difficult but then I'm not musical. |
LaserLab Perhaps there is little here to do with music except when 'Beat Match' is engaged and then it links the science of the laser with music......just. |
Drumkit A simple activity based around a drum kit where learners can create various beats and rhythms. |
OneStudio Sequencer A more complex music creation tool for more able learners involving rhythms and synthesizers. |
Sliders A simple tool to explain the concept of pitch, I think. |
Marvellous Machines An interactive activity in which learners can make music by altering the rhythm, pitch and volume of a series of weird looking musical machines. |
Musically Interactive A series of activities counting beats, clapping rhythms and the introduction of musical notation. |
