Acrobat Reader Needed for being able to download PDF files often as instructions or worksheets	AVG Anti Virus An excellent tool for keeping computer virus at bay. We use it ourselves.	3D Warehouse network link Another Google download, this one allows you access to 3D models which people from around the world have created and placed in the 'warehouse'. The software also allows you to create these 3D models yourself.	1940's Kitchen Jigsaw As the title suggests a downloadable jigsaw of a 1940's kitchen.
Imagine Logo Plug-In Required for those wishing to use Logotron Turtle control online.	BBC School Radio Perhaps radio is an underused resource in schools but here is an index of programmes as they happen. Simply use them through your computer. An excellent resource with a link to program information to print out.	3D Maps A download which creates maps in 3D.	2 Handed Finger Spelling Simply type in what you want to say. Click 'translate' and your sentence appears in finger spelling. Excellent resource.
Java Needed to run many of the animations	Beneton Movie Gif It allows you to create animations from scratch by importing the frames, dragging them into position, setting frame properties and more. You can also apply a variety of image effects (rotate, colour blend, blur and more) as well as animation.	3D Outline An online tool which creates 3D Text for use in desktop publishing and/or websites.	ABC Kid Genius Free software to teach the Alphabet, Letters, Numbers, Counting, Reading and Spelling using Sound. This is a membership site but there are a number of free downloads within the site.
Macromedia Flash Needed for many of the games	British Pathe Limited An incredible resources of archive photographs and films covering a wide range of topics. Very useful but requires time to sift out what would be useful to specific learners.	Antics 3D Budding animators can download a free version of this animation software used by film professionals.	Animal Cryptogram Maker A simple worksheet maker. Add your own words, riddle and solution and click on the 'Make Puzzle' button.

Art Range2 An excellent free art package download. A wonderful tool for hours of creative fun.	Animal Wordsearch Maker A simple wordsearch maker. Quicktime This is needed to view a number of animation.	BT Speedtester The BT Speedtester checks only the part of your broadband that BT is responsible for, that is, the line between its exchange and your home.	Build your own Bamzooki A software download which allows you to create creatures called Bamzookis	BGfL Quiz Creator An excellent resource to create 'cyber quizzes' linked to specific websites. The potential of this resource is endless. It would also be useful for learners to try to create their own.
Real Player A BBC link to this download needed for some of the audio and video files on some sites	Desktop Pins A facility I couldn't do without when using more than one window. Windows Media Player Required for many video clip activities.	Find Sounds An index of short sound files with many uses. Learners creating their own 'sound quizzes' would develop listening skills. 	Flash Earth A variation on Google Earth but some great photographs possible.	Dia for Windows A simple download which allows the creation of drawings and plans.	Canterbury Cross Primary A collection of excellent resources created by the school. They are simple but colourful, creative and fun to use. A must for maths and English learning.
	Freeware A collection of free software from DTP to DVD creation.	DK Clip Art A series of sets of catalogued clip art. Don't be put off by the credit cards at the bottom of the screen. Simply right mouse button and save.	Concentration Generator A basic but very quick way of creating a concentration game where learners have to match items by remembering where they are in the grid. Useful for learners to make their own for others to use.
	Google Earth An incredible site which gives you access to satellite photographs of many areas of the world.	DrawPlus 4 Whether you want a classy logo, attention grabbing text, or an artistic masterpiece, DrawPlus 4 has the power and tools to help you.	Create Interactive Tests Although you have to register this may be a useful resource for creating student activities.
	Interactive Web Radio An incredible download which allows you to determine the type of music you want to hear and music is provided by various radio sources.	Flash Templates A series of downloads to assist in creating hours of educational fun.	Dasher Dasher is an information-efficient text-entry interface, driven by natural continuous pointing gestures. Dasher is a competitive text-entry system wherever a full-size keyboard cannot be used - for example,
	Irfanview A free picture editing suite.	Free Serif Software A collection of free software from Serif.	Dinosaur World A download which enables learners to move in 3D around a 'dinosaur' environment.
	Jigsaws and Games A collection of simple jigsaws and games for learners to try.	Freemind Mindmapping is a powerful tool for making sense of random thoughts. Download requires the Java Runtime Environment to run.	Fighters A simple look at how technology is changed by war. War changed weapons and tactics. Using the example of fighter aircraft from WW1 and WW2 in the collection at Duxford, this is a simple exercise in working out how aircraft and their use changed.
	Open Office An free alternative to Microsoft Office with word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation software included. Microsoft files can be imported.	IKEA room planners 4 downloads to help design bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens and a work space.	Free Software for Kids A download which accesses twelve simple, colourful well laid out maths and English activities for whiteboard use.
	Piccasa Picasa is software that helps you instantly find, edit and share all the pictures on your PC. Every time you open Picasa, it automatically locates all your pictures (even ones you forgot you had) and sorts them into visual albums organised by date.	JigSaw Maker A simple jigsaw creator.	Google SketchUp 6 One of those programs which is only limited by the imagination of the person using it. Hours of creative fun for anyone.
	Spamfighter If you receive a constant stream of unwanted mail (as we did) then this is the download for you. It is simple to use and block junk mail. Graphic Organiser A catalogue of worksheets to print out with a multitude of uses from calendars to storyboards. Could save hours of work.
	SpyBot A free programme which if used frequently will stop a lot of annoying cookies invading your machine. Again we use this ourselves.	Jigsaw Puzzle Creators A series of downloads which allow you to create your own jigsaws from your own pictures. There is also a game called Rolling Marbles. Download this at your peril.....it is addictive so be warned.	Handwriting Sheet Maker Simply input the words and create a worksheet which learners have to copy the handwriting style.
	Storynory Stories which can be loaded as MP3 files for use on iPods.	Lego Digital Designer A must for anyone who loves lego and computers. With this you can create on screen. Hours of fun and creativity.	History Resources A collection of downloadable resources from this excellent site.
	Spyware Doctor PC Tools Spyware Doctor with Antivirus 5 Starter Edition is a free commercial download anti-spyware and security tool equipped to receive updates.	Lego Starter Sets Series of designs to download and recreate. Excellent for ideas and hours of creative fun.	Introduction to Phonics A series of files for download.
	Textease A program combining word processing with speech, desktop publishing and multimedia authoring.	Matching Game Generator One of the many Oswego game creators we have used throughout our site.	Make Puzzles A series of templates to enable learners to create their own puzzles to printout.
	Thunder ScreenReader Two excellent 'free' programs in one for those learners with visual impairments. The two programs are available after registration which then speech enable websites and provide facilities to enhance webpage text.	Oswego Interactive Games Many Oswego game creators we have used throughout our site.	Math Flash A download that allows you to create interactive maths flashcards. Learners could create their own for others to use.
	WordWeb Pro WordWeb is a quick and powerful international English thesaurus and dictionary for Windows. It can be used to look up words from almost any program, showing definitions, synonyms and related words. It includes pronunciations and usage examples.	Page Plus DTP A free desk top publishing package. This is an earlier version of the one one the market now. There is no technical support and very little in the way of tutorials. However, if you are familiar with DTP then this is a handy free tool.	Mouse Club Downloads A series of downloads covering a variety of curriculum areas.
		Paper Aeroplane Designs A set of paper aeroplane designs to download and use.	Number Cruncher Maths Activities suitable for use on Smartboards.
		PhotoPlus 6 A free image editing package. This is an earlier version of the one one the market now. There is no technical support and very little in the way of tutorials. However, if you are familiar with photo editing packages then this is a handy free tool.	Numbers Game The game emulates the UK Chanel 4 Countdown (TV show) numbers game whereby you can choose 6 numbers to be used by the contestants to make the number that is randomly generated by the program. The 6 numbers to be chosen can be any six from 2 lots of 1 to 10
		Pivot Stickfigure Animator Pivot Stickfigure Animator allows you to create stick figure animations easily and without any artistic skills. You can move the sections of the sick figure and easily create a chain of animation frames that can be previewed as you go. From here you can download a wide variety of material including worksheets, curriculum documents, lesson plans and simple programs, which you are free to adapt and use in your school, college or home.

		Quiz Maker A freeware software for Windows that enables you to create multimedia quizzes as HTML documents. This program simplifies quiz-making in HTML without any prior knowledge of HTML or JavaScript.	Sorting Games A number of examples are given but each also gives an opportunity to create a game using the same items. Creating the questions is a high level skill which learners should develop.
		Sandfields Comprehensive A series of download templates for games and quizzes. You may require WinZip to un-zip the compressed files.	Speller Software Spelling Activities suitable for use on Smartboards.
		Sound Files for Powerpoint For those who are more creative.	Spellmaster A download that allows you to create four separate activities from one simple wordpad file. We have created many activities using this software. It produces JigWord, Matchword, SpeedWord and Webword activites. An excellent learning tool.
		Teach-IT.com A series of template games to download to create hours of educational fun.	Star Tower You can download any of the Star Tower materials to your hard disc to use offline.
		WebPlus 6 If you thought creating web pages was difficult, think again! With WebPlus you'll be designing and publishing professional looking web sites fast. Whether you're a professional or novice you'll come to appreciate the easy to use atmosphere in WebPlus.	Teachers Report Assistant Sounds too good to be true but if the comments are genuine 1000s of teachers use this means of creating individualized pupil reports.

			Tudor Kitchen Jigsaw As the title sggests a downloadable jigsaw of a Tudor kitchen.
			Twenty Activities Do not be put off by the SEN label to these activities. They are creative, imaginative and colourful. Some like Numbers 1-5 are on a loop system so could be left going on an interactive whiteboard throughout a session on basic counting.

			Wordsearch Creator This program allows you to quickly and easily create wordsearch documents in MS Word for editing and printing. First you type in the words that you want to be included in the wordsearch, select the size of the grid to use and enter a title.
			Word Search Maker Create word search worksheets quickly. Simply input the words required and set the way the words can be positioned. Click on create and the worksheet is ready to print out.
			Word Shape Maker A simple tool to create vocabulary and spelling lists. Words appear as shapes to show letters above and below the line. An excellent and easy way to create helpful worksheets.

BBC I Player A download required to playback a number of BBC stored programmes.	Rainlendar An excellent calendar programme with facilities to add events and tasks to be done.	Photo-Movie This is an excellent complete project in itself linking with Photo Story 3. A series of tutorials take learners through the various stages of production.	Google Earth Google Earth 4.3 download has a 3D navigation system that allows people to move easily around features such as buildings and mountains. There is zoom feature.
Windows Defender A free program that helps you stay productive by protecting your computer against pop-ups, slow performance and security threats caused by spyware and other potentially unwanted software.	Google Notebook An online notebook into which you can store text, links and pictures for future reference. Excellent resource for students. Requires a Google account.	Pocket Mod The PocketMod is a small book with guides on each page. These guides or templates, combined with a unique folding style, enable a normal piece of paper to become the ultimate note card.	Typing Invaders Typing Invaders is an arcade game, in which you are escaping from invaders, shooting and trying to hit invaders. Improve your typing skills with this free typing tutor - typing game.
Cortona Player Cortona Player is a Virtual Reality Plug-in, it allows you to view and interact with 3D environments through your browser.	Google Desktop A set of features which sit on your desktop including a clock, notepad and search machine. Requires a Google account.	Spring Pack 2 14 fun activities aimed at KS1, KS2 and Special Schools. Zed, the main character from the early reading books, returns in the Easter Story. Easy to use and a great tool for teachers and parents.	vanBasco's Karaoke Player vanBasco's Karaoke Player plays MIDI Karaoke files. Lyrics can be displayed in full-screen. You can change and recall tempo, volume, and key of a song, and mute or solo instruments.	Free Printables A catalogue of free printable sheets covering a range of topics.
		Gadwin Print Screen This utility gives far more control over screenshots than is possible with Windows on its own. Screen shots are shown in a preview window and can then be sent to a variety of destinations including the clipboard, printer or a file.
